Contracts are a core progression system in Marathon, allowing players to earn powerful equipment, crafting resources, and faction reputation. One of the longest missions tied to the Traxus faction is the Equitable Distribution Priority Contract.

This contract contains four separate stages, each with multiple objectives across different maps. Players must search for rare items, interact with terminals, eliminate specific enemies, and sometimes extract successfully to finish the mission.

Because of the number of steps involved, the contract can feel overwhelming at first. This guide breaks down every Equitable Distribution objective step-by-step, helping you complete each stage efficiently.

Equitable Distribution [1/4]: Deliver the Self-Erasing Data Drive

    Marathon Equitable Distribution Contract Guide

The first part of the contract takes place on the Perimeter map and requires retrieving a special item before delivering it to a DCON terminal.

    Step 1: Travel to Hauler

    After entering the Perimeter map:

    1. Open the map and locate Hauler in the western area.

    2. Enter the building and climb to the second floor using the interior stairs.

Inside the server room along the west wall, you’ll find a locker containing the Self-Erasing Data Drive.

Step 2: Deliver the Data Drive to a DCON

Once you pick up the item, a three-minute timer begins immediately.

    To finish the objective:

    1. Open the map and locate the nearest DCON terminal.

    2. Travel there quickly before the timer expires.

    3. Interact with the DCON interface.

    4. Drag the Data Drive from your inventory into the DCON container.

Several DCON terminals are scattered around the map corners. One of the closest is typically located north of North Array.

You must complete this step within the same run, but extraction is not required afterward.

Equitable Distribution [2/4]: Spawn and Loot the Transport Drone

The second stage occurs on the Dire Marsh map, specifically at Algae Ponds.

Step 1: Activate the Drone Terminal

Travel to the center of the map and locate Algae Ponds.

Find the blue building south of the “LG” marker on the map.

    Inside:

    1. Go to the second floor laboratory area.

    2. Locate the terminal.

    3. Interact with it to trigger an audio transmission.

This action summons a Transport Drone.

Step 2: Destroy the Transport Drone

After activation, the drone appears in the central marsh area and begins flying north along the road.

    To continue:

    1. Track the drone visually.

    2. Shoot it down before it escapes.

Once destroyed, the drone drops two mission items:

    • UESC Supplies

    • Drone Manifest

Step 3: Extract With the Items

Unlike the previous stage, this step requires successful extraction.

You must reach an exfil zone and escape with both items in your inventory.

Failing to extract means repeating the entire step.

Players who want to complete multi-stage contracts quickly sometimes use a Marathon Boost service to reduce time spent repeating difficult objectives.

Equitable Distribution [3/4]: Scan Station Drones and Deliver Resources

The third stage returns players to the Perimeter map, focusing on the Station area.

    Step 1: Scan Three Drones

Head to the Station POI in the northeastern part of the map.

    Inside the main building:

    1. Take the stairs down into the garage tunnels.

    2. Locate drones positioned around the area.

Three drones can be scanned at the following spots:

    • On a raised platform to the right

    • On a shelf near the crane

    • In the southeast corner of the garage

Interact with each drone to complete the scanning requirement.

    Step 2: Deliver Unstable Gunmetal

Next, collect 7 Unstable Gunmetal materials.

These resources frequently appear inside Station and nearby loot containers.

    After collecting enough:

    1. Open the map.

    2. Locate the nearest DCON terminal.

    3. Deposit the materials into the DCON inventory.

The closest DCON is often located south of Station.

Unlike earlier stages, these objectives can be completed across multiple runs, so you don’t need to finish everything in one match.

Some players prefer to Marathon buy contracts to ensure they always have faction missions ready during their runs.

Equitable Distribution [4/4]: Track and Eliminate the UESC Commander

The final stage takes place on Perimeter once again and involves locating and defeating a high-ranking enemy.

Step 1: Trace the Commander’s Location

Travel to the far south area near South Relay.

Look for a small hidden facility located near the map’s edge.

    To enter:

    1. Use the hatch on the roof.

    2. Carefully descend into the structure.

Inside the facility are explosive traps, so move slowly to avoid damage.

Locate the terminal in the northern room and activate it.

This reveals the UESC Commander’s location on the map.

To exit the bunker, destroy the four red light boxes controlling the doors.

Step 2: Hunt the UESC Commander

Open the map and head to the marked location.

The contract shows a timer, but it simply indicates when the Commander spawns, not when he disappears.

    Once he appears:

    1. Eliminate the surrounding UESC soldiers.

    2. Defeat the UESC Commander.

    3. Loot the UESC Credentials item from his body.

Picking up the credentials completes the final stage of the contract.

Extraction is not required for this final objective, though leaving safely can still reward additional loot.

Players who prefer faster access to gear sometimes look for buy items for marathon game options in community trading systems.

    Rewards for Completing the Contract

Finishing the full Equitable Distribution contract provides several rewards, including:

    • Random Enhanced Equipment

    • Random Equipment

    • Crafting Materials

    • Credits

These rewards help unlock stronger loadouts and progress within the Traxus faction.

Because of the contract’s length and difficulty, completing it successfully often marks a major milestone for Marathon players.

Tips for Completing the Contract Efficiently

    Use Map Awareness

Many objectives rely on knowing exact locations, so frequently check your map when moving between steps.

    Avoid Unnecessary Combat

The contract often requires traveling long distances. Fighting every enemy wastes time and increases risk.

    Coordinate With Teammates

Playing in squads makes tasks like drone destruction and Commander fights significantly easier.

    Manage Time Carefully

Certain steps—like delivering the Data Drive—have strict timers, so plan your route before picking up the item.

    Final Thoughts

The Equitable Distribution Priority Contract is one of the longest faction missions in Marathon, spanning multiple maps and objectives. From retrieving timed data drives to destroying transport drones and hunting elite commanders, the contract tests a player’s navigation, combat skills, and strategic planning.

By following the steps outlined in this guide, you can complete each stage efficiently and claim the valuable rewards waiting at the end of the Traxus contract chain.
